From Frensham to Founder: How a Lockdown Spark Became a Business I left Frensham Heights in 2019 after Sixth Form, with A Levels in Sociology, Drama, Photography, and a Diploma in Music. My time there was incredibly special. It's where I found my love for music, thanks to singing lessons with Mandy, who encouraged me to believe in myself. After school, I began studying music at the London College of Contemporary Music, hoping to build a career in the industry. But when the pandemic hit, everything changed. Studying from home felt isolating, and after nearly two years, I made the difficult decision to leave the course. Feeling lost, I spent a lot of time online and stumbled across videos about social media management. Something clicked. I found a work experience placement, started learning everything I could, and slowly built The Social Pulse. At first, I worked long hours for little or no pay, just to build a portfolio. My first client, a construction company, wasn't what I expected, but it opened up an exciting niche. The business grew quickly. I went from working solo to leading a team, even travelling to Dubai for projects. Being named a finalist for Young Business Owner of the Year 2025 was a proud moment. Frensham gave me the confidence to think independently, to try new things, and to trust my instincts. These are skills I use every day. If you're thinking about starting something of your own, take the leap. You never know where it might lead. |
