A Moving Memorial for David Proudlock
Monday, 4 November 2024

Thank you to OFs Tashi Gore, Gunnar Cauthery and Libby Curley (pictured) who organised a moving and celebratory memorial for their much-loved teacher, David Proudlock, who was Director of Performing Arts and House Master of Flottage in the 1990s. We welcomed OFs, former staff, friends and family members, who enjoyed reminiscing about the various productions they were in during their time with David - notably A Midsummer Night's Dream performed in Flottage Courtyard. The Ballroom came alive with recollections from the past with readings, memories and a sing-along.

We had some lovely feedback from David's family and students:

"Such a heartfelt tribute with tears and laughter, brilliantly organised and executed." - Former student

"An amazing afternoon filled with love and respect for Dave, an incredible teacher who gifted so much to us each individually as well as the collective. I felt like the years had rolled back and I was at school once again for another mesmerising 'Morning Talk' . Thanks to Tashi, Gunnar and Libby and all who were once again on the Frensham stage even if for a fleeting but beautiful, sad as well as funny and uplifting goodbye." - Former Student

"All the family and friends who attended were extremely impressed with the service, which struck all the right notes and was frankly the best event of its kind I have ever experienced. David would have loved it." - Family member
