We regret to share with you the sad news that OF, Sasha Wernberg- Moller (nee Shibley) has recently passed away.

Sasha was a student at Frensham in the late 30’s, who returned to Frensham in 1942, age just 17, as a new member of staff. Sasha often spoke about Frensham Heights with huge fondness, and met some of her closest friends during this time. After the war Sasha worked at the main Public Library in the centre of Oxford, before being offered a job in the Bodleian Library in 1948. Working at the Bodleian enabled Sasha to study at the same time for an Oxford degree at St Anne’s College. The Bodleian paid both her tuition fees and college dues, thus making her the first 'Bodley girl'. Many years later, in a happy marriage and with five young children, she became the Librarian at St Edmund Hall, which was a position that she kept for 17 years. She was a truly remarkable person, with a deep love especially for her family and for her closest friends, but also for people, travel, poetry, music, gardening, and for so much more. She will be greatly missed by so many
