In 1939, when he was 13, Tom and his sister, Elisabeth joined Frensham Heights having fled Czechoslovakia. They stayed at Frensham for 4 terms before leaving for Mexico so they could be reunited with their parents who had been unable to leave France. During his life, Tom split his time between Mexico and London and was a university lecturer in Business. He also served as a Governor at Frensham from 1976 to 1990 and was Treasurer of the Board of Governors for a number of years during that time and his daughter Ivana, was a student at Frensham. Tom and his wife, Marie-Clairelatterly lived in France.
We were delighted to welcome him to school in 2013 to talk about his experience of Frensham, the welcome he received and the friendships he made. You can listen to his interview by copying and pasting this link: https://vimeo.com/485384536
